Ugljevik, The Republic of Srpska
The Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska, Željko Kovačević, and mayor of Ugljevik, Vasilije Perić, officially opened to traffic two roads and two bridges, which the company Comsar Energy Republika Srpska built in Ugljevik and handed over the ownership to the local community.
As support for the local community in the construction of infrastructure, Comsar Energy Republika Srpska built two local roads with total length of 2,500 m and two bridges over the river Janja for smooth traffic for local people from the villages Mukat - Stanković and Bogutovo Selo to the main road M-18 Bijeljina – Tuzla, with the total value of the works at about five million BAM.
On the construction of infrastructure facilities only domestic construction companies and labor were hired as contractors, thereby reaffirming the business policy of Comsar Energy which is creating a favorable economic environment in the Republic of Srpska.
The CEO of Comsar Energy Republika Srpska, Siniša Majstorović, said that the projects of building a thermal power plant and a hydroelectric power plant do not finalize the investment plan of the company for the Republic of Srpska and the company is currently considered to be the largest investor in the Balkans.
"Comsar Energy Republika Srpska is currently constructing a thermal power plant in Ugljevik and a hydroelectric power plant in the municipality of Rudo. Connecting these power plants to the grid is planned for 2016. It is the policy of our company to provide support to local communities and environments in which we develop projects and we have already proven this with a whole range of actions in the Ugljevik municipality. On behalf of the company Comsar Energy Republika Srpska, I wish the citizens of Ugljevik to use the new roads and bridges for many years in good fortune."
The Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of the Republic of Srpska, Željko Kovačević, thanked the company Comsar Energy Republika Srpska for its trust and investments in the Republic of Srpska.
"This is just proof of how one company, one serious investor, pays great attention to developing good relations with the local community in which it invests. On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Srpska, we thank them for that and wish them to continue their successful investment in the Republic of Srpska. On our part, we will do our best to provide favorable conditions for further investments."
"We wish Comsar to finalize the construction of the thermal power plant in Ugljevik and the hydroelectric power plant in the municipality Rudo in the near future. This is a good sign and a good opportunity with we all should be pleased, because building is being done in the Republic of Srpska, revenues and taxes stay in the Republic of Srpska, in addition to employing people and hiring our domestic companies as contractors, indicating that the Republic of Srpska is moving forward fast. The mayor of Ugljevik, Vasilije Perić, thanked the company Comsar Energy on modern roads which were handed over to the municipality of Ugljevik, making it easier for local residents of some villages to reach the center of Ugljevik and surrounding cities.
"These roads and bridges are a prerequisite for future investing in the Ugljevik area and an example of good partnership, good practice between local communities and investors which I am confident will continue in the future. Of particular importance is the fact that companies from this area were hired as contractors. Handing over the newly built infrastructure by Comsar Energy to the municipality Ugljevik, the local community will be wealthier for assets worth about 5 million BAM."
