Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina | Comsar Energy Group was chosen one of the most important foreign investors in Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2014 at an event called The Most Important Foreign Investors in B&H in 2014 Selection Event, traditionally organized in Sarajevo by Foreign Investment Promotion Agency of BIH (FIPA).
Considering importance of foreign investments for economic development of the country, unemployment rate decrease and foreign trade deficit, introduction of new technologies and managerial skill, and for improvement of competitiveness of BIH economy, FIPA Agency organizes this event to award foreign-owned enterprises whose investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina were the most important in the previous year. The selection committee was composed of representatives of FIPA Agency, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BIH and Foreign Investors Council of BIH.
Comsar Energy Group Limited Cyprus, with its two big projects in BIH - Construction of Ugljevik 3 Thermal Power Plant and Mrsovo Hydro Power Plant, having invested more than 50 million of euro so far, was elected the most important investor in the category – “Greenfield” (establishment of a new company/ construction of facilities). Director of “Comsar Energy Republika Srpska“, Mr Siniša Majstorović, expressed his satisfaction that his company gained such recognition because it also sends a strong message to potential future investors in BIH.
Director of FIPA, Ms Jelica Grujić, reminded all present that this event, which is being held for the thirteenth year, represents a unique opportunity to award a public recognition to foreign-owned enterprises that recognized their chance in BIH. According to preliminary data of the Central Bank of BIH, investments in BIH in 2014 amounted to 819 million BAM. The most important investments come from Russia, Great Britain, Austria, Luxembourg, Croatia, and Switzerland.
The event gathered a considerable number of representatives of institutions, international organizations, accredited embassies, business community and media in BIH.
