The Government of the Republic of Srpska, following a thematic session in Ugljevik, consented to the Mine and Thermal Power Plant (RiTE) Ugljevik to sign a contract with Comsar Energy Limited about forming a joint company "Comsar Energy Republika Srpska".
The prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska, Aleksandar Džombić, announced the realisation of the construction project of the thermal power plant block three which is, he said, "one of the most important investments in RS, in the energy sector, where there is room for investments of at least five billion euros."
"Comsar Energy Republika Srpska", based in Banja Luka and with an operating unit in Ugljevik, will be the holder of the construction of the new thermal power plant.
Comsar Energy Republika Srpska will have the following ownership structure:
- 90% Comsar Energy Limited, Cyprus and
- 10% RiTE (Mine and Thermal Power Plant) Ugljevik, Ugljevik
"The RS Government has given its full support to this project – it adopted information, required 'Power Utility of RS' and RiTE Ugljevik to give give their full contribution to this project," said Džombić, adding that 'Power Utility of RS' has a duty to continuously report to the Government on the project progress.
He said that today’s sesssion of the Government in Ugljevik is one of the most important sessions, because the stated investment is important not only for the development of Ugljevik, but also for the Republic of Srpska.
