Design of HPP Mrsovo

Due to the topographic and geological conditions on the chosen site, a concrete gravity-type dam with a power plant facility was selected. The dam is divided into two main parts, the overflow with weirs, a stilling pool and gravity block on the left half of the profile, and the overflow, mechanical unit building with accompanying buildings are on the right, separated by the gravitational part of the dam.

The longitudinal dam axis is placed perpendicular to the flow of the river. Geographically, the riverbed of this section has a straight and proper flow with a narrowing of the riverbed downstream of the stilling basin. The total width of the river bed at the partition profile, is 150m for the normal top water level of 355.00 meters above sea level. The partition profile is in an irregular 'U' shape with a smaller, lower terrace on the right bank. The edge of the terrace on the right bank is at 343.00 meters above sea level and the bottom of the riverbed of Lim at 337.32 meters above sea level.  

The maximum power of the hydro power plant HPP Mrsovo is 36.8MW. And it will be connected to the power system of The Republic of Srpska to the 110kV network, which is determined by the power of the HPP and the vicinity of suitable connection terminals with 110kV voltage. According to the preliminary design, from the aspect of electrical equipment, a solution with three three-phase synchronous generators (G1, G2, G3) has been agreed, as well as and additional three step-up transformers (T1, T2, T3). Generators will be driven by three vertical Kaplan turbines, each with a rated capacity of 12.43MW.
